A note regarding AssUnity purchases using that Origin India loophole
The cheapest price for Assassin’s Creed Unity by far involves using a loophole involving tricking Origin into charging you the price for India instead of the UK price. I’ve posted this on SavyGamer a few times, most recently here.
In the past, Origin has issued uPlay keys that were either totally region free, or at least were usable in the UK, but it seems this time around that is not the case.
Fortunately there is a simple workaround to get the uPlay client to accept these Indian keys.
1. Open the uPlay client and go to “settings”, then set network forced proxy to “27.106.33.161”, and “port 8080”.
2. Put the client into offline mode, then go online again.
3. Now your key will redeem without issues.
4. Revert your proxy settings to as they were at the beginning.
That should sort it out. I’ve not actually tried this process myself since I didn’t buy AssUnity, but I’ve checked with others and it seems to have worked fine. Please post about any issues you are having in the comments.

Probably doesn’t matter but I got the origin India deal on far cry 4 and it just added to my origin account. No UPLAY for that one. ..
Fairly sure it will require uPlay activation when you try to launch it.
Bad luck mate. All Ubisoft games need uplay even if you bought it from Origin or Steam.
yeah, your right it does indeed. thought i had left that damn service behind me after I found I couldnt move about 40gig of games into a new hdd/pc
do you reckon it will be the same for Dragon Age?
Dragon Age Inquisition is neither discounted heavily on Origin India, nor activated on uPlay, so no.
Pretty sure it’s like £26 on Origin Mexico using the same method
Can confirm I got AS Unity working using this method, thanks Lewie.
The IP you gave wouldn’t log me in on Uplay (perhaps a few too many people trying at once) but there are other proxies you can try
http://www.xroxy.com/proxylist.php?port=&type=&ssl=&country=IN&latency=&reliability=#table
I used the one with the 8080 port and it worked for me.
had to use this method too but it worked. thanks
Worked with one of the other proxies. Thanks a lot Lewie and Athan!
Was just coming to the site to leave a comment about this issue when I found this post.
The method above worked for me! I used 202.56.231.117
I guess same thing will be required for Far Cry 4, not a big deal though.
Saviours both x
thanks! about 5 proxys later I got it working too!
Also got this to work with proxy but now game is only showing up in my library when im using the proxy. When i disable the proxy Its not in my library and i cant find anyplace. Anybody else with this problem?
Same problem here mate. And if I try to register the game (without proxy) it fails saying that it’s already in my library.
I posted on the original deal saying I was having problems with this. I have now got it to work, but instead of the trick above I managed to find a free Indian VPN server using http://www.vpngate.net/en/ though it is not always available so I had to wait for it to appear. Now my game is activated and I can download and play it without any connection shenanigans, so it all worked out in the end.
Lewie, are you not gonna put up the method for purchasing Dragon Age: Inquisition on Origin? Just under £30 for the deluxe edition is something worth mentioning if you ask me.
I’d be interested in picking up that offer on Dragon Age, it’s not just buying it from Mexico is it?
Just to confirm this method worked with Far cry 4 Gold. I bought it via the India Origin store a little while back and got emailed the code when the game was released at midnight. Had to use one of the Xroxy IPs tho (thanks Athan)
I had to use the proxy method for Far Cry 4 also. seems to have worked ok.
Nice one Ben, that IP got my Farcry 4 registered fine
