Darkspore – Review

Darkspore, PC – £23.49 delivered

When I heard that Darkspore was comparing itself to Diablo, a favourite series of mine, I immediately knew I would have to take a look and see what all the fuss was about. I was surprised that Maxis had decided to have a stab at creating something a little more daring than their usual expansions of the never-going-to-disappear Sims franchise. I just didn’t think Maxis had it in them to create a visceral action RPG, but was I counting my loot before it had been identified? (more…)

The weird thing about this is that I don’t think there actually is a “Limited Edition”. This is the listing of all the different versions, and there is a Collectors Edition, Augmented Edition and normal edition. No mention of a Limited edition.

It’s probably worth ordering at this price, and seeing if Amazon update their listing before release if you are interested.

The SavyGamer Podcast: 4th Birthday Special

It’s been a long time, but since SavyGamer is four years old today, we thought it was about time we put together a birthday special podcast.

It’s like the other podcasts we did back in the day, but birthdayier.

Also. Er, this is a bit embarrassing. I may have lost my backups of previous podcasts back when my old host has a major balls up (not their fault, I moved hosts because of the balls up and did not back up the audio files).

If anyone has any/all the old podcasts somewhere, and could send them to me, I’d be massively appreciative. Get in touch here.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution [Augmented Edition], PC – €30.26 delivered to anywhere in Europe.

Registers on Steam.

As a follow up to this post, where Amazon are selling this for £25.91, Asda have now pricematched Amazon, but have cheaper international shipping (99p for anywhere in Europe).

Update:
Amazon do actually offer free shipping (on orders of £25 or more, like this) to most of Europe, but not all of Europe.

Amazon will ship for free to:
Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Andorra, Finland, Gibraltar, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Vatican city, Poland, India, New Zealand and South Africa.

However, for these countries, Asda is cheaper:
Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution [Augmented Edition], PC – £25.91 delivered

Registers on Steam.

Includes:
In game tat,
Artbook,
Making of DVD,
Soundtrack,

Anyone who has previously ordered this via Amazon will now be paying this lower price, according to their “Pre-order Price Guarantee” policy, and if they drop the price further (highly unlikely) you’ll pay the lower price too.

The [Limited Edition] is £26.79, but I don’t know whether that is better than the Augmented Edition. [Update: I don’t think there actually is a Limited Edition, Amazon’s listing is possibly erroneous. I’ve gone for the Augmented one]

You can get the standard edition for £23.99 delivered.

Cheers StuntmanLT for the tip off.
