How do you justify featuring CD key resellers which appears barely more than piracy, and furthermore having you’re own promotional code for one of them?

I don’t follow how you consider this to be in any way similar to piracy. These keys came from the publisher.

I’ve been led to believe that reselling retail CD keys is not legitimate, I’d love to be wrong on this count due to the bargains they represent.

You’d need to definite legitimate for me to answer with certainy.

These serials will most likely come from retail copies of the game sold by the publisher.

Resellers likely don’t have permission from the publisher to resell these keys, but I have no intention of only posting publisher approved deals to SavyGamer.

They are authentic serials which activate on Steam without issues. This is not the same as piracy.

It’s your site and your decision what you put on here but for me I want to ensure that some of the money I spend on game is reaching the publisher/creators, unless I misunderstand the way these things work that defines legitimacy for me. I appreciate the work you do, but the CD key resellers make me feel uncomfortable and I haven’t ever used one for the reasons I’ve mentioned.

The creators are getting paid. That’s what I mean why I say the serials come from the publisher.

They don’t generate these keys themselves, they are taken from copies sold by the publisher. A CD key reseller buys copies of the games from the publisher, and then sells them on to the public.

          • This is probably not illegal but definitely against ToS and probably very immoral (if you care about that stuff). Usually these keys come from Russia, China or India (just as an example) and, in theory, they can’t be sold outside those countries, otherwise Amazon, Green Man Gaming and others would do it.

When publishers stop being anti-consumer I’ll stop buying from “grey” sites such as this. Until that distant, utopian future though I feel pretty content with getting the best deals I can on goods like these
Morality is all very well and good, but that door swings both ways and publishers on the whole are incredibly amoral (at best) in their approach to dealings with their customer base.
