Ok I know it says Mac, but will it definitely work on Windows as it’s a Steam key?

Don’t buy it because I believe that it won’t register on steam, just like Game.co.uk’s version. Game’s mac/pc steam version of Cod was in the sales at Xmas, but as mentions it doesn’t register. I contacted steam about it and this is what they said
Unfortunately, as outlined on the previously provided support link: http://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601
“Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is not accepted on Steam”. As such we are unable to register this CD key to your Steam Account.
In fact there first response was
“Retail copies and other digital versions of this game cannot be registered through Steam.”
