AssFlag, PS4 – £26.93

Purchase the digital PS3 version from Amazon for $34.99 (£21.41), and then purchase $10 of PSN credit, which you can then use to upgrade it to the PS4 version.

To purchase digital games from Amazon US, use your UK Amazon account, and add a US billing address to your account. This address needs to be a valid US address, but nothing will be sent there, and you can access all your games through their website. Some card issuers may charge a fee.

You will need to register this on a US PSN account, but it will work fine on a UK PS3/PS4.

    Anyone tried this yet ?

Okay – so does not quite work 🙁

I have bought and redeemed the $10 credit fine on the PS4 – but the PS3 game code for Assassins Creed does not redeem

This *might* just be because the PSN network is being hammered right now (I hope) – otherwise I may need someone with a PS3 to actually enter the code (while being logged in as me) to add it to my account so I could then use the $10 to upgrade

Oh and i’ve tried to redeem the code via the US PSN store but that doesnt work either

I think you might be right that it is because of problems with PSN. I just heard from someone who was having the exact opposite problem, the game but not the credit were accepted.

If it doesn’t work tomorrow, I’d advise contacting Amazon.

For the other person with the issue the credit stuff *should* be redeemable on the PSN store go to

            https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/liquid/cam/account/giftcard/redeem-gift-card-flow.action?execution=e4s1&f=

Click redeem card and stick the number in (i’ve used it for ‘cash’ stuff on my UK PSN account before)

FYI Amazon do have a disclaimer on the PSN codes right now

“Please note: Due to high volume on Sony’s PlayStation Network service, some users may experience network latency. Sony is aware of the issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. ”

I’ll try in the morning and if it doesnt work i will just find someone with a PS3 to try and add the details on there.

Okay tried this morning and its still the same – i’m going to get someone with a PS3 to try to redeem the code – its quite possible that it can only be redeemed on a PS3

I think I have found the problem, Sony disabled certain PSN features in light of the European launch of the PS4. Redeeming pre-paid codes is one of those features.

      http://blog.eu.playstation.com/

“We are aware that users are experiencing some disruption to the PSN service. To minimise the inconvenience we have suspended the “redeem voucher” functionality whilst we investigate further. Unfortunately this means that money cards, product vouchers, PlayStation Plus vouchers, PS3-PS4 upgrade vouchers and any other vouchers for digital content are not redeemable at this stage.”

Should all work OK once they re-enable those features.

Okay – tried online again and it worked !

So it was just down to Sony taking the servers offline with the load and not a requirement to actually use the code on a PS3
