WOCK again, can anyone confirm the legitimacy of this site? I
Hello
I’m part owner of WoCK and we buy those keys legally from different suppliers, you can check our facebook or also on dlcompare for reviews of clients.
We are only around for close to 3 month so you will not find that much yet.
if you have any questions dont hesitate to send me an e-mail to matthias@worldofcdkeys.com
Regards,
Matthias
In Soviet Russia, Steam code unlocks you.
I’ll get me coat.
Thank you for posting Lewie
I would be interested to talk to you if possible, please send me an e-mail to matthias@worldofcdkeys.com and we can share contact details if you dont mind.
Thanks
Matthias
What’s that I hear? Special deals for savygamer users? Don’t mind if I do…
Hi, no there is no special deal or something going on i just obviously would like to talk to him regarding possiblities, sorry if that is against policies from here.
So far we have not talked to each other and he posted the deals himself.
Sorry, I’ve been kind of busy, I’ll shoot you an email when I get a chance.
ok thank you, looking forward to it
Sooooo, Russian Steam Key are good to go? Won’t we risk to get the game removed from our account, and won’t we need VPN activation?
Why would it get removed from our account?
I don’t know, violation of some obscure TOS rule about games meant for specific markets (such as the russian one) and such. There was some blocking going on with those russian folks who bought games for EU/US/UK players and then sent them directly through Steam as gifts. This would be no different, since I’m basically getting the same game for a price meant for a market different than mine.
THEN AGAIN I have purchased a RU Dead Island more than a year ago and never had a problem with it, even though I had to activate through VPN.
So mine is just paranoia, nothing more to it. But better sure than, well, screwed.
I just bought Dark Souls, it activated straight through Steam and works fine. I’m in the UK. I don’t think theres anything that says you can’t buy stuff from abroad, otherwise they’d have blocks on when you activated it?
Well isn’t this just a way of buying these games without the VAT that we pay in the UK?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they made moves against people buying a lot of russian games but they may not. Haven’t heard of it so far. If they aren’t region locked would they have much to object about?
Well, once I purchased some Dead Island keys for me and my friends on ebay and they worked fine for some months, then sometime later the game was removed from our accounts.
The message we received was exactly this one:
“Your Dead Island CD key has been deactivated due to potential unauthorized registration of CD keys. If you purchased your CD key from an authorized reseller, please contact Steam Supportand file a new ticket with “Dead Island CD Key Activation” in the subject line and they will be able to assist you further. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to some legitimate Dead Island customers.”
Since then, I’m VERY paranoid about purchasing keys using “non-official” means. I have more than 250 games on steam, and I really don’t feel comfortable risking those games to get a good deal here and there. I’d rather just wait for a good steam sale or purchasing the game on a trusted retailer.
I’ve just bought this deal and its activated fine. Almost finished downloading too.
Should be pretty safe, i’ve bought quite a few Russian keys and i’ve only had 1 of them revoked.
What got revoked? and why?
Dead Island. Goliathvv’s post above explains more.
We only sell keys that are region free (no VPN etc.) and dont require any language patch.
We believe that the games that require VPN activation or some sort of language patch are more likely to be removed or not work anymore after a game patch then games that are region free from the beginning.
Even cheaper here:
14,78€
http://www.gamekeyz.net/de/151-sleeping-dogs-standard-edition-steam-uncut-key.html
You can pay via PayPal so it shouldn’t be a problem.
Can anyone confirm this?
Yep, confirmed working. Took about an hour to get my key, but registered with Steam fine.
£13.47 here :- http://www.keys4.me/sleeping-dogs-cd-key.html
Didn’t buy Sleeping Dogs here but purchased Dark Souls a few days ago with some others as listed earlier on Savy 😀
That is more than the link above – notice the “€” 😉
True, by a little, but they are also based in the UK by their address and have a phone number, something the other conveniently doesnt have listed anywhere on its site :/ Swings and rounds abouts I suppose, but at least if something goes wrong you know where to go, for a quid more it gives me a little bit more peace of mind 😀
Most of these sites don’t list phone numbers, I don’t think g2play.net has them, doesn’t mean that they’ll rob you blind. And if something were to happen, not saying it is, but you could always get your money back via PayPal.
This is a worldwide key, so no regional restrictions either.
Anyways, here’s a site for scanning sites that sell keys:
http://www.gamekeyfinder.de/
It doesn’t have all the sites listed, but a pretty good overview still. If anyone has a sites that incorporates more sites in the search, please share the info 🙂
renhoelder:
“but you could always get your money back via PayPal.”
False, paypal doesn’t cover purchases of non-physical items, you aren’t covered by Paypal for this type of transaction.
matthias:
“but we prefer to not have this information public”
Not sure on Switzerlands laws but in the EU and other countries it is a legal requirement to have those kinds of details listed for a business trading legitimately. I would assume the Swiss would have similar laws.
Hello
I can see your concern, but we prefer to not have this information public, however if you search for the company that owns WoCK (Libertas Investment Consulting Group AG) you will find on zefix.ch the information + address of the company duly registered in Switzerland.
Also you can contact me anytime on matthias@worldofcdkeys.com or on support@worldofcdkeys.com and we will reply as fast as we can.
Just to clarify, Steam can and will remove games from your account if they are found to be from a region in which restrictions are in place. As someone already mentioned, you can buy a CD key, and weeks/months down the line it can be revoked from your steam account. A word of advice: never use a VPN to bypass any region locks, this is more likely to get you banned than just have the game revoked. Never buy keys from sources that don’t appear trustworthy, always check customer feedback, and if none is available, don’t buy regardless of the price. There is plenty of information surrounding this topic on the official steam forums and I urge you to do your research if your accounts mean something to you. Also, Matthias this site has always been about the cheapest deals, so why you felt the need to reply to the Borderlands 2 deal (£22.39) with a deal from your website (£27.73) is beyond me, this is spam and should not be tolerated here.
Thanks for your reply and i agree, that is why we do not sell games that require VPN or any language patch.
Regarding the borderlands 2 deal I replied because some clients apparently cant buy because they are not from UK (see comments), furthermore i also wrote that i’m not sure it is allowed and i’m ok if they remove my comment.
REgards,
Matthias
EXPIRED
Just as I was clicking buy.
I’ll get it some other time. I’m in deep with Dark Souls PTD at the moment anyway.
Hello
Not sure what you are referring to, the game is still up and can be bought around the same price (depends on daily GBP / EUR exchange)
Thanks
Matthias
I bought sleeping dogs Russian version cd key from WOCK. Hoping to receive it in e-mail soon.
However, something that concerned me when registering is that they sent me a confirmation e-mail that i had to follow the link to confirm my account. Within this e-mail was my e-mail address and the password i gave. The password was written in plain text. Not hashed or salted. I am sure everyone can see why this is a problem.
I’m going to e-mail matthias about this as well. Its Not cool.
