Just to let you know, GameStop takes payment from your account for all pre orders as soon as you checkout (according to their FAQ). So in the case of Borderlands 2 you are being charged for a game that is not coming out for over 6 months. I would recommend Amazon as the pre order price is only 4 quid more and you will only be charged closer to the release date. Also GameStop is notorious for their poor customer service. (http://www.resellerratings.com/store/GameStop) These are consumer reviews, so of course they are subject to hyperbole…
They sound worse than Zavvi. Never had any problems with them personally.
I would have to agree, however Zavvi and The Hut are extremely uninformed and apathetic. I recently called their (The Hut) Customer ‘Service’ Team about a special edition of a game called Xenoblade Chronicles which has been out in Europe for months, and which I heard about on the SA froums. The point of the call was to tell them that there was a mistake on the website, however I was told I was wrong, and that the Special edition which is to be released in December of this year has “extra features”. In actuality all it includes is a controller… I would like to think that GameStop would be better in this particular scenario, as they specialise in games.
Don’t know what all the problems with Zavvi and TheHut are. Have ordered loads of things from them and never once had a problem. Once it took nearly a month for a game from Zavvi but they did inform me of that before hand and I could of canceled at any time. They are a little slow and take about 4-7 days to delivery but never had any issues tbh.
