I think RFA has been announced to be a Steamworks title (i.e. “registers on steam”), at least there are a few hits on google talking about it being confirmed.
I was also browsing through a CDR explorer and noticed that there are multiple steam subscriptions with names like “RFA Volition”, “RFA THQ”, “RFA iEnergizer”, and “RFA – Ratings Build”, in addition to the “Red Faction Armageddon Rel Beta”.
I don’t think a company would be using steam as a method to distribute test builds if they weren’t planning on full Steamworks integration. Add in THQ’s affinity for SteamWorks titles, and I think it’s pretty likely.
