This is ridiculously good value…
Rich #
This has got to be bordering on fraud, but what the hell.
Rich #
Out of interest, does the state you select make any difference to the sales tax?
Paolo #
I put in an Oregon address to see, as they don’t pay any sales tax, so I paid $5. Are other states getting their sales tax added on to that $5 at checkout?
Dave #
There’s also the original Dawn of War II for $7.50 and Dawn of War 1 and an addon for $5 each. Dunno if any of them register on steam though.

Awesomeness! I have been waiting to nab this at such a low price.
Surely the UK THQ shop will have an equivalent offer soon, though? Obviously this is designed to get more people excited about Retribution, so they’d be stupid not to…
Tony Heugh #
Great deal! I ordered the Gold edition from Zavvi but, being Zavvi, they never sent it and sent me emails every now and again saying they were trying.
THQ offer ‘Extended download service’ – back up your online purchase on their servers for two whole years for only $5! Thank god for Steam codes.
Steve #
I got issued a refund for the purchase, although the game is still on my Steam account. For now, at least. Anyone else experienced similar?
bamboozle #
I did. Here’s hoping they only pull the game, if anything.
elDIablo #
Yep, I’m in the same situation, refunded but still on my Steam account.
Rich #
Same. A little worrying. I’m downloading it now to be sure, but there’s no reason they couldn’t get Valve to pull it from our Steam accounts or worse.
elDiablo #
Yeah, that worries me a little too. Removing it from account, that’s at least kinda of ok seeing as I’ve got the refund. But if they then try to reuse the key, and someone else who buys it gets a “Key already in use” message, are Valve going to think we’ve stolen games?
Tony Heugh #
Same here. Wonder if it’s still valid.
Jethro #
I can confirm the game still launches and plays, etc.
sonofsanta #
Superb! As Rich says, almost fraud, but serves em right for being silly and not doing offers internationally
sonofsanta #
Refunded as well – what’s the worst they can do though? Some people seem a bit panicky here, which then panics me somewhat…
(game still in steam library as well)
sonofsanta #
Right, so, e-mail from PayPal stating refund sent, e-mail from Digital River stating refund sent, but when I check findmyorder.com – as stated in the DR email – it still says Order Complete and has a download link. Steam still has it atm as well.
It all seems like a bit of a muck up really, doesn’t it? Still seems like this is what you should expect when you try and region-lock an offer tho :/
Kits #
Grabbed this and Dawn of War 2. Been meaning to get round to playing them for a long time, and can’t complain at £8 or so for both.
Matchstick #
Purchased DoW2:CR and Darksiders yesterday and registered them both on Steam successfully but today I find emails from Digital River saying that both purchases have been refunded.
Very odd.
AW #
REfunded but still on steam account – this PC I’m using isn’t good enough to run the game. Can anyone confirm whether the CD Key is still valid and that the game runs even after the refund?
Rich #
Now I think about it, there isn’t even any point downloading it on Steam to make sure I can keep it. Valve can just lock it remotely.
Leon #
My order gets cancelled each time.
Carter #
My purchase is refunded too, game is still on Steam account.
I just hope nothing will happen with my steam account.
David #
Do all the titles available on Steam activate on it? Or only DoW, Metro and Darksiders do?
I got my money for Chaos Rising back and want to try my luck with RF: Guerrilla.
Lewie Procter #
Just Dawn of War 2 and its expansions, Darksiders and Metro as far as I can see.
RFG does not register on Steam (it uses GFWL as it’s DRM).
David #
Thanks a lot. I was about to click “Buy Now”.
I’ll go for Metro then 😛
Carter #
So, money refunded yesterday, but game is still on Steam account, fully playable…
David #
Everyone should check his/her Paypal account, THQ still trying to get his money back.
Both transactions shows as “On Hold” on Paypal, and I’ve been charged 3’78 € for Chaos Rising, this time for real.
Carter #
My paypal still marks transactions as “Completed”.
David #
Click on “Details” and look at the last notation.

Odd. Although I expected my order to get cancelled and refunded after having bought the game from here, Latvia, nothing of that sort has happened and the order seems to be completed successfully.
I used http://www.fakenamegenerator.com for generating the address and other details required for the order. Blind luck?
Zotouto #
I too ordered under false address, got a refund but had already added the games to Steam. As Steam is known for banning users (and losing them their game collections) for lesser offences, I’m a bit worried. I’d appreciate if Lewis or someone else would look into the matter and what should be the proper course of action.
