It’s from CEX, so it is preowned, but it’s also sealed, so the serial to register it on Steam will be unused.

Considering how Mewtwo isn’t even anywhere near getting to that low a price, that’s a pretty good deal.

MW2? You can get it for £19.97 if you wanted.

Okay, wasn’t quite right, but I’ve still seen it priced at £35.

It’s also still only down to £20 after a year.

That’s because Activision don’t hit the panic button as soon as demand tapers off; so many people wonder why developers go bust or cut back due to games not making as much money, it’s because the publishers only see new releases as having a 3 month lifespan.

Mirrors Edge went from full RRP to £12 within 8 weeks of release – to me you’re doing the gamers who pre-ordered it an injustice. It’s alright people saying that it’s ‘market rules’, but that’s only if you follow the market; Activision don’t and they’re posting huge profits, so they must be doing something right.

Though likewise, I’m not going to buy a new game full-price if it’s got a horribly short single-player campaign and is riddled with technical issues.
Though this is the same Activision who bumped up the price of the console versions to £55 just because they could as they knew people would buy it anyway.

Also, I like bargains, I’ve been playing the old Disgaea games recently and I’ve certainly got my money’s worth out of them.

“you’re doing the gamers who pre-ordered it an injustice”
Boo hoo. If you want to put money down at the highest possible price, before there are actually any reviews, that’s your business. Don’t expect people who frequent a site like this, i.e. savy gamers, to care.

    Also:
“Activision […] they must be doing something right.”
Indeed they are. They merged with Blizzard.

The Democratic Republic of Blizzard? Capital being Azeroth, and an annual GDP of around $3B? Savy move.
