I understand that it works okay on 32 bit installs of Vista and Win 7 – but why on earth would you want a 64 bit install?
In addition, it appears as though the game is running faster than it shoul if you actually manage to install it … I agree, probably best with GOG version.
Buy it you fools! (The fools being those who haven’t played it already.)
I’d be so tempted, but they’re doing an HD remake so I think I’ll hold off 🙂
BEWARE!! – the DRM which comes with BG&E is NOT Vista/W7 friendly. Ironically, the game DOES work, it’s just the nasty DRM which doesn’t.
GoG’s version is DRM free and thus works for all systems (AFAIK – certainly OK on W7 here)

Gah – need edit…
would = wouldn’t in above post …
Came in to ask about the drm issue. Got my answer.
Also this game lags/doesn’t play well on PC as far as I have played with it =/
Unfortunately, I have 64 bit Win 7, so it looks like this won’t work for me.
Happily, the Good Old Games version is on sale as well, though for not quite as much – but a dollar extra is totally worth no DRM.
