Xbox 360 [The new one that hasn’t got a proper name] measly 4gb one – £119.99 delivered
I’ve been reluctant to post any deals on this model, 4gb of space is not really enough space for a 360. You’re essentially going to have to be deleting and redownloading stuff frequently, or opt to miss out on a lot of the best games on the system. Plus, Microsoft’s decision to make the redesigned console incompatible with the old hard drives is pretty horrible, considering how much they were charging for them in the first place. They haven’t even released hard drives that are compatible with this model yet (to my knowledge). Anyone had any luck with that hack to make old drives fit into this model?
Sneaky Edit: Note that the 4GB storage on this model is viewed by the 360 as a memory card, and not a hard drive. Because of this, you won’t be able to use game functionality that relies on a hard drive to be present, such as online campaign co-op in Halo Reach. ~Will
Still, it’s cheap. Offer for today only, and limited stock.
It’s Zavvi via eBay, so who knows when you’ll get it.

Now to just find a crazy good offer on the new style 250gb HDD…
I noticed through your twitter feed Lewie, well looking at those you’ve tweeted, that it is possible to use the innards of an older Xbox HDD in a new Xbox Slim (at your own risk of course), but is it possible to use a normal/universal (that which you’d purchase for your PC) HDD in it as well?
Definitely not. They have custom firmware to prevent that. Microsoft issued an update that blocked a bunch of non-licensed hard drives a while back.
Microsoft is a bum eyes. I believe you can do what I said with a PS3 though, can’t you?
Yep. Takes a minute and doesn’t impact your warranty.
If only I had one. I does like to tinker, and the thought of customising a console (within reason) appeals. Hang on, don’t they call those PCs…? :-O
