700 free Playswap points
Playswap, the online game trading service previously known as Goozex, disappeared inexplicably from the internet a while back. They’ve always been pretty incompetent, so I wasn’t surprised that they didn’t bother to email any of their customers to tell them what was going on. Pretty bad considering people might have had a lot invested in the service.
Well they’re back now, and word on the street (twitter) is that if you email them at info@playswap.eu, with the subject “700 bonus points” and your username in the body, they’ll give you 700 free points.
Now lets see if they can sort out the, frankly, broken since day one points economy, and get a decent range of games actually available.
I’d recommend being very cautious before investing a lot in the service.
Cheers doboworth for the heads up.

Was just about to send you this.
If I had any games left in the system there (I bailed a while back – thankfully!) I’d definitely remove them all if I found out they were giving away so many free points. Seems a very good way to completely derail the ‘currency’ they’ve got in place.

I just looked at their list of games ‘available’, and it’s almost completely unchanged from what it was three months ago. The entire system has collapsed, really. I’ll claim these 700 bonus points (weirdly, my account seems to have over 1000 more points than it should have, anyway…) and see if I can’t get hold of anything playable.
The complete failure of the EU service especially sucks, as I’ve heard that the US version of the service is excellent. I know a guy who got Lost Planet 2 via it just a week after launch, as well as a lot of other new, high-profile games.

Emailed yesterday, points have gone on this morning.

I’ve done this. Apparantly COD4 Xbox is on it’s way.

Yeah, I got the free points too. It’s a shame almost all of their prices are basically completely wrong.
