OOH! Anyone have experience with with EA’s store thingum? How is it and do I need an EA program open to play it?

EA Download manager to download stuff, then it’s basically the same as if you’d bought a retail copy, no client needed to run it at all.
They reserve the right to revoke your permission to download whenever they want, after 6 months, although if you back up the installer then you can reinstall as many times as you want (unless the game has limited online activations, which I don’t know about with DA:O).
However, I’ve had Spore on there since release, and they have not revoked my download yet.
It’s the best price, and EA Download manager is relatively lightweight and fast.
I’ve got a few games on there, but none I have paid for. I did rebuy Mirror’s Edge when it was £3, just to have it on steam.

Hooray! Now if I can purchase it without EA’s store spitting on error message at me, I’ll buy it.

I don’t think this applies to my country – it won’t accept that code

If anyone gets an error message about verifying when trying to purchase, empty your cache.
Worked for me.

Probably would’ve got that, but I’m being directed to the Japanese store and the standard price
for the deluxe edition is about £55 anyway.

Why is the EA store fucked? I can’t buy off there ever as I always get the message “We are unable to process your order. Please verify your information and try again. ” everything is entered correctly and I have done all the tricks such as clear cache etc and tabbed buying I’ll try it on my Sisters Ea account later and see if it works.

I think that they are getting hammered. They have gone from not really having any customers to having a load that are interested now because of good discounts.

A heads up to anyone who may have taken advantage of this offer. I downloaded the Deluxe edition yesterday, but wasn’t given the redeem codes for some of the items that should have been included as part of the package (The Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor). I got a quick response from there support team though after logging a question on their support site (http://support.ea.com), and both were added to my account.
