Head to play.com, order the game, get sent a code for the ‘beta’, then cancel the preorder.

The reason beta is in those skeptical bits of punctuation is that it is clearly a restricted demo, not a beta.

The code play sent me doesn’t work. Says it’s already in use :(.

i went to play.com got sent a key code but it didnt work it siad “alreay in use”

Preordered myself too, says new preorders get their codes within 24h, I’ll (try to remember to) report back when I get mine.

But it does say closed beta, I presume you need some kind of key to actually play it?

If your codes don’t work, you should definitely email play customer support to get a new one.
Play doesn’t have customer support email.
Worked for me just fine. Ordered it from Play, got my key, played it last night and it lagged like hell but I got in just fine. Haven’t actually cancelled the Play order yet – I’ll see how the beta works out because I do like my Battlefield games – I reckon I have plenty of time to cancel it before it’s actually released.
It’s been just over 24 hours for me and still no key. Guh :\.

I didn’t try to use it until after I cancelled the order, so Play might’ve invalidated it.
I doubt that’s it, there’s massive amounts of people having the same problem from other retailers too. I tried mine before cancelling too. Actually I just repreordered, since I noticed the last one was to my former address. Might even buy the game actually, the price is right. Shouldn’t be too hard to get almost even by selling it post-launch if I happen to hate it or something. (This is mostly because retail prices in Finland are silly compared to the UK)
