MDK 1+2 are personal favorites of mine, and Fallout 1 and 2 are definitely still worth playing. The descent games are excellent fun, and DN3D still holds up really well.
If you want something more unusual but excellent, Shiny Entertainment are a safe bet (play Sacrifice and marvel at Brutal Legend’s innovative copy and pasting). Citizen Kabuto is great too.
