iPlayer Wii Channel – Making the unmissable, waggleable
Nintendo and the BBC are going to be launching an iPlayer channel for the Wii on Thursday the 19th of November.
The web version of the iPlayer has been compatible with the Wii’s Opera web browser, but it had a pretty horrible interface, the video quality wasn’t great, and it was awkward to get it full screen.
In theory this channel could fix all of those problems. I guess we’ll see exactly how good it is when it comes out.
It will only be available to people in the UK. I assume that it detects where you are connecting from (like the PC version does).
You don’t need to have a TV license to use the iPlayer. I decided a while back not to bother renewing my TV license, since pretty much everything I want is put up on the iPlayer. Worth considering, and you could put all that money towards more lovely games.
You need a licence if it’s for live streams on iPlayer
Any quick/easy links or guides to removing all the homebrew and related items from the Wii, I just never utilsed any of it and want to remove it before I perform an update.
Informative post. I really liked it.
