WHSmiths out of the games game
I’ve heard from a few sources that WHSmiths have been heavily discounting any games stock that they have left.
They stopped stocking new games in most (all?) shops a long time ago, and so it’s only whatever remaining stock they have on the shelves. Stuff might not have stickers with the clearance price on them, so it’s probably best to ask staff to scan items to find out the price.
Please share reports of any discounts you find, and where, in the comments.
WH Smiths has moved all its DVDs CDs etc to Big, a separate company that operates inside the store (and doesn’t make it obvious its separate- this is why you cant use gift cards for dvd’s etc). I dont know what affect this has on games, whether they will just be sold by Big now, or whether they will be removed completely. Worth keeping an eye on in case of any bargins though.
The WHSmiths near me just don’t stock games / DVDs / CDs anymore at all. So I assume they’ll just stop stocking them completely.
They probably would have sold more if they didn’t have shitty prices in the first place!
