What’s EA downloader like? Never used it before, but I’m tempted here…

No major complaints really. It’s basically just a download manager. You download an installer file, and it installs off that.

Once it’s installed, it’s the same as if you had installed it off a disc (although obviously without a disc check).

Sounds reasonable. I take it that means there aren’t any silly download limits or such?

Sadly the voucher doesn’t seem to be working…

They reserve the right to revoke your download after 6 months, but they never have done.

Well the coupon doesn’t work for me either. It does not return an error though. It seems the voucher is good for a “£0.00” discount…

    Shame

Interestingly, VoucherCodes.com (presumably the originator of this code) lists a number of different codes for the EA store. None of them are the one listed here, but one is for 40% off (NJ40UK).

The 40% off code behaves like the one given above: no error code, but no discount either. Also, the discount supposedly given by that code is more than the 25% suggested by the code itself. Weird.

In other news, I discovered you can get a 10% discount from the EA store by adding something to your basket and then navigating away from the store. They then give you a “Please come back!” message, which will give you the discount if you select an answer (I suggest the “Prices are too high” option). You may need to go back to your basket to get the message.

    Can y’all try “NextJump”

      Same as it ever was.

What browsers has anyone actually got this working in? I’ve tried in Chrome, Firefox and IE8, to no avail. Chrome might be causing problems as I use the beta builds, rather than stable, but the other 2 should be fine, no? Clearing cookies and such didn’t help either. Most odd.

Does it make a difference if you’re logged into an EA account when you add to the basket?

it’s working in Chrome (stable) for me. Not logged in.
