Pre-owned. My single sentence to tell you that was too short, so I will add that my previous sentence was too short, whereas this one is quite quite long.
Whoops, forgot to mention that.
I am pretty sure that all PAL PS3s are NOT PS2 compatible.
The original 60GB phat was PS2 compatible, but limited by the poor software. Sony used to even have a list showing how well games would run on it based on their product code. Once they stopped manufacturing them though the list disappeared from their official site.
You’ll probably need the 12 month warranty. It does seem like the original 60GB models are starting to drop dead… Managed to revive mine thanks to a heat gun, but who knows for how long.
Better deal would probably be the Sainsbury’s £199.99 for a brand new 160GB slim in-store right now.
The original AMERICAN PS3 was PS2 compatible. Not the European ones.
The difference was the American ones had full hardware support. The Euro 60GB had some hardware support and then the rest was done via software emulation. Or it’s just some crazy miracle that my PAL 60GB phat console can play PS2 games?
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
