    …
    Oh my god.

Does this mean we should forgive GOG now?

It means that they would have been better off just announcing this than all the other crap that they did.

I agree with Lewie. Simply announcing that they had Baldur’s Gate and Planescape: Torment in the pipeline would have earned them a lot more goodwill than their crappy PR stunt. But Planescape for £6.30? I think I can forgive them.

I’m suspicious that this is a hoax, too.

Lewie, you should probably point out that the best way to purchase from GOG for us Englishmen is actually through Paypal (as much as I hate to admit it) since it ensures that $9.99=about £6.50. I’ve bought stuff at their $9.99 price point through my Natwest bank account and it works out at around £8 after you factor in their charge and their god awful exchange rate.

I suppose it might be different for other banks but it’s worth knowing.

Oh thanks, that’s news to me.

Personally I didn’t have any problem with what GOG did. At first it seemed like they were gonna shut down (though they never admitted that directly), which I thought was sad. They said people would still be able to download their bought games, so no harm done there. But when it turned out they were coming back, people were more enraged than relieved. I feel like most of these people haven’t even heard of GOG, as some websites out there haven’t reported about them before.

I’m dragging on here, but I just wanted to point out that people were a bit too upset about this whole deal. Those who’ve bought a lot of games have a right to be pissed off, but I felt like a lot of the negative feedback was ingenuine; from people who most likely had nothing to do with GOG before.

Wow. There was more I wanted to say, but I’ll be quiet now.
