Serious Sam's all got discounted
There’s a few different options here.
Serious Sam HD: Gold Edition, PC – £7.50
Includes:
Serious Sam: The First Encounter,
Serious Sam: The Second Encounter
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter,
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter
I have no idea why you would want the originals (Edit: Mike points out in the comments that the HD versions do not support split screen, which the original versions do), but as far as I can tell, they aren’t available on Steam individually.
Serious Sam HD: Double Pack, PC – £5.49
Includes:
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter,
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, PC – £2.99
Also available as a 4-pack for £2.25 each
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, PC – £4.49
Also available as a 4-pack for £3.38 each
So would you recommend the Double Pack over the Gold Pack for a new player to the series
Yes. Or just the first if you are unsure.
There is a demo if you want to try it out.
The original games have support for split screen multiplayer with up to 4 players and lan.
You’d want the first ones for the awe-inspiring madness of parse error!
Aha! That makes sense.
No split screen in the HD versions?
No split screen, no mod or custom level support, no LAN, and no multiple gravities in HD, only the originals. But I’d find it too hard to give up the shininess for any of that.
These are a great couple of games. I hope everyone in the Steam group gets the HD games, so we can go throught the game together, or have some deathmatches.
