I recently tried to get PC world (Kingston Upon Thames) to price match a Wii when GAME had reduced the Motion Plus pack down to £130. First they claimed that they would not match the prices of bundles (obviously this is a standard Nintendo package) – when that was challenged, they said they don’t price match with GAME. The end result is that they simply would not do it, on top of that they refused to offer a version of the policy in writing.
This is just a prior warning, I’m sure this is not representative of all PC World stores and I also imagine the size of the purchase (with reduction) had a major effect on their reaction..
Well that’s just nasty. I’ve never had too much trouble myself, but then I’ve never tried to get anything more expensive than a game matched. If you repeatedly have trouble, I’d suggest taking a printout of the policy from the website, but if they are just going to flat out refuse to follow their own quoted policy, it’s going to be hard to get them to do so.
