As far as I know, this is a “legacy” title that only implements a serial check. You can play with an offline GFWL profile.
But yeah, if the servers shut down, you won’t be able to play online anymore. And I don’t see Codemasters removing GFWL from this game, they aren’t even going to do it for Dirt 2 (only Dirt 3 was confirmed).
This is a great game but it’s GFWL so I dunno if it will work when GFWL is turned off.
