There was a similar preorder deal on the 3DS from the very same retailer, and they did honour it. It’s where I got my 3DS from.

Yep, I just got one saying that the order has been cancelled. Shame.
I don’t know why it took so long, I thought I might have been in luck but they have today, almost 6 weeks later, cancelled the order.
So I went through this at the time – got the cancellation and thought no more about it – however today I have an email from them saying my console will be dispatched next week.
Logged in and checked my orders page which is blank but who knows (I have blanked the order number below but it was the order number for this offer)
“Thank you for placing your pre-order for the Sony PlayStation 4 on order xxxxxxxx.
With the release date quickly approaching we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that your PlayStation 4 will be dispatched next week.
