Be very careful if you have windows 8. GfWL is really difficult to get working on windows 8 with AA/AC. Still to get either working and I’ve tried masses of fixes from internet.
What kind of problem are you experiencing? I’m asking this because I had problems getting GFWL to log in in AA when it was just released, and it was due to my router settings.
If it was anything like most of the Internets (myself included) it was that the GfW:L guide did not show at all, hence taking away the ability to save your game. I believe this is an issue on Windows 8 only, which wasn’t out when AA was just released.
BM as and ac just won’t start, but none of my gfwl games work. They work on
my win 7 box. Will check the port issue though. I have re installed gfwl
after bm ac installed as was aware of the old gfwl install problem.

I did get mine working after a little tinkering with various fixes found through Google. Can’t remember which one exactly did it for me. Still, if you haven’t played either, you could do worse than gamble £7.12 🙂
The key issue for me was to replace the version of GFWL which AC installed and download the latest directly from xbox.com. That was the only non-standard thing I had to do to get both games running fine on Win8.
