Think I’ll pass. While I *am* in the mood for shooting men, I think the original Doom is more than enough, especially if you combine that with Brutal Doom (which is about men-shooting as I think humanity will ever get). The 25GB install certainly is a massive strike against it too for me.
You need to get the GameFly client, then on the purchase history you can get the product code by clicking the button on the Rage thumbnail and this can be registered with Steam.
Just a quick heads up that UK customers might have problems with checkout; GameFly’s billing info page is set up for a US address and doesn’t translate well to UK details. I’ve tried several combinations of my credit card address in the form and only succeeded in locking myself out; at least it suggests they’re alert to fraud…
Incidentally if anyone UK-based has used it before and can suggest how to convince it to work please post.
The way i did it – house number and street in “address” box, london in “city” box, post code in “postal code” box, and left the “state/province” box empty. For country i selected UK. It worked fine for me!
To get the key, i got an email after purchasing that sent me to http://www.gamefly.co.uk/activity/purchase-history/ on that page, the order number is a link, click that and under the ‘order details’ bit it has the product code
kind of a hassle, but no need to download yet another client
Is it worth £5.09? After the initial hype and letdown, do people now consider this an Id classic or still a bit poopy?
Far from an id classic, but I’d say if you’re in in the mood for shooting men, it’s worth a shot. Especially at this price.
I was going to agree with you, until I saw the 25GB download. I’m running low on space, so I’ll have to skip this.

I doubt you can buy this if you don’t have a UK credit card, right?
tried it …
“Sorry, due to region restrictions, this product cannot be sold in your country.” … I hate this automatic region detection BS…
“Yay, finally Rage digitally for cheap, get to see what all the hate is about.”

*facepalm* *twice*
So how does this register on Steam? I can’t see any options on the site.
I’m not sure, I’ve not done it myself. Presumably there will be a code somewhere. It definitely registers on Steam, because it is a Steamworks game.
Got it!

Anyone annoyed by regional restrictions, it’s pretty likely that they’ll be reducing this to a similar price elsewhere too. I’ll keep an eye out.
