That’s exceptionally depressing, especially considering the offerings from my own local supermarkets are rather disheartening. I have long held the suspicion that games have artificially priced themselves out of business, using figures of the highest sellers to justify the costing (GTA, COD, CARP, MENSA). As a gamer, I find it too expensive to take as many chances with new properties or unknown quantities as I’d like. This is an entirely non-academic anecdotal assessment. I recognise their are other factors. But I’ve spent more money on Steam and iPhone gambles in total than I have on full-priced titles. Recently weak DLC and update neglect further discourage me from investing in a title at launch, which I presume is where their developer’s futures are judged.
Thanks Lewie, used this to get an Xbox 360 S!
The guy who served me at Comet said they’re getting out of gaming as they can’t compete with the big supermarkets, hence the slashed prices…
