Saints Row The Third should be 50% off on dec 23-24, which would make it a couple of pounds more expensive. Or maybe it´ll go on sale on the Steam Holiday Sale, who knows.
On a sidenote, g2play use codes from actual game boxes, so if I were to buy this case from a shop in Russia and enter the code, would Steam still harass/ban the game/account?
Valve can ban your game if they detect that the game key is from another country, but if you prove them that you actually bought the game and it’s not just the key (with a picture of the game and your name written in it for instance) they undo the ban.
Ok, good to know. The thing is I live in a country that is, at least according to Valve I think, still considered Russia, although the country has been independent 20 years, so it may be a viable alternative to buying overpriced games directly from Steam or waiting for a sale.
For example it should be perfectly legal to buy a copy of Rage, which Steam tells me is not available in my region, and register it in Steam.
Maybe I stumbled upon a glitch but when I checked their site (store.thq.com) this morning it had all the discounts on their games in a neat list, which I can´t seem to find now. It was there though. On the other hand it is sure to turn up sooner or later on some site for a good discount.
Thanks. Just had a quick browse around as PC World are now doing it at £17.49 and you’re right. On the THQ store page itself it says they will be doing it at 50% off on the 23/24th (weird – who is going to buy it before that with it plastered all over there?). Their RRP is £29.99 so it will be £14.99 – better than PC Worlds 50% of a £34.99 RRP.
Well the price seems to be £17,91 again, so if anyone wants to take a chance it´s £15.68 over at intkeys.com. I´ve bought 1 game from them, no problems, they sent the key in minutes, so …yeah.
Be careful with G2PLAY.
Valve doesn’t accept them as a seller so your Key can be banned from Steam Platform.

Do you have some inside info on it being 50% on 23/24th December (if so, where will it be 50% off?) or is that just what you think might happen?

Also, be ready to justify your identity with a full copy of your id. They may request it, randomly, to make sure you’re a real person.
