From that thread it appears the fix doesn’t always work unfortunately. Even so, it’s tempting.
Still love Dirt 1 to bits. No proper Hillclimb in 2 or 3 blows.
I bought this for 99p in a Steam sale a year or so ago. It is pretty tempremental on W7. It worked for a good while for anything up to a couple of hours at a time before it crashed, but then other times it wouldn’t start up for a half dozen tries. I managed to finish the game through it all, however. It is a damn good game and worth the effort. I seem to remember that it saved so often that I rarely lost anything from a crash.
Just read the fix. I’m not running an i5 or i7. Some old dual core intel hidden in me gubbins (built too long ago to remember). So I don’t know if it is playable with those. If you do take the jump, best of luck!
