The regular edition is still free. It’s not too clear from the Steam listing, and I’ve only played the free version, but from what I can tell the Star Edition has a lot more “stuff”. Stuff like tracks and cars.
Nations (the free one) only has one environment. The proper one has 6 or 7. Each one feels completely different. At £5 it is a steal, however you can upgrade to this edition for free if you have got TM United.
To be specific, the full version has seven environments, with 42 race tracks for each environment (294 tracks total), plus 21 total platform tracks (get to the end by any means necessary) and 21 total puzzle tracks (construct the track and get the fastest route) and 21 total stunt tracks (self-explanatory), plus everything Nations Forever has, plus backwards compatibility to the vast majority of the custom tracks made for all previous versions of TrackMania.

This game’s excellent. It was even without the star edition. Everyone should get it.

The free version is brilliant, so if it is just a lot more of the same, I say go for it.
