I don’t really know how much cheaper would be buying in US instead of UK site. 50USD is at the moment very very close to GBP (at least that’s what google tell me :D). Although D2D can get annoying with it’s country restrictions, we cannot say their prices sucks (unlike Steam where $=€).
P.S. US site usually put 2-3$ of tax on purchase at checkout, didn’t see that on UK site.
It’s pretty close if you compare something like Brink which after discount is £22.8 (D2D US) and £22.4 (D2D UK) excluding tax.
But take something like SF4 Arcade Ed. and you have £18 (D2D US) vs £22 (D2D UK). Even with the US sales tax, D2D US remains cheaper for that one game. As for taxes, I’m pretty sure UK has VAT, there’s comments on RPS saying the UK site adds em and prices have been incorrectly quoted.
Edit: It appears I’ve misread the comment, I think it actually means it adds sales tax on US site even if your ip is UK based. Oh well, I think the SF4 Arcade Ed. pricing thing still stands anyway.
True, sometimes price “translation” doesn’t have much sense on their sites. 🙂
Didn’t know about VAT though (so far my only purchase was over US sire when they had GTA IV Complete, restricted on US and Kanada).
Fair enough, my suggestion was mainly for clarity purposes and I reckon it can be vague to some others.
Anyway, just thought I’d add that you can’t use SIZZLE on Pirates of the Black Cove but it still works out to be 11 quid, which may or may not be cheaper depending on Paypal or your bank’s current exchange rate.
really appreciate all the work/posts you do mate 🙂 thanks
it would be awesome to get a quick note of (US) when posting an American deal, as most of your spots are UK based.
Has this expired?
Doesn’t work
Coupon or discount ‘SIZZLER’ is invalid.
Hmm. Not according to the homepage, but the coupon is no longer working for me either. Not sure what is going on.
Oh, I was just an idiot and typed the coupon in wrong. Corrected now.
That’s because the code is ‘SIZZLE’ it’s on the front page of D2D
Tried with the code “Sizzle” and it didn’t work either : “Your coupon or discount is not valid for the product in your cart”
Tried again with the coupon “SCORCHIO 25” and it worked this time.
And you are on the USA site? Sometimes it redirects people away from the USA site (there is a country switcher at the top right).
Does this register on steam?
Nope.
sizzle worked for me. It adds an extra $7 tax on for me because i am in Ireland so works out at around 27 euro total. Decent price indeed.
You should clarify in the post wot coupon is for which site mate (US,UK or EU).
I can always tell which site usually has the cheapest price but I’m guessing many others don’t.
P.S. To those who don’t know, SIZZLE is for US and SCORCHIO25 is for UK. US is almost always cheaper.

Well I tend to work out which is cheaper, and just post whichever is the cheaper of the two on a game by game basis.
