The Oddboxx, PC – £9.99
Includes:
Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus®
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath
Still no demo though, so your guess is as good as mine as to whether the major technical issues the latter two had at release have been effectively remedied. Or if you’ve got it, perhaps you could share your experience of it.
I really want this but I have been holding off for the Abe’s Oddysee HD remake. Decisions decisions.
This is an horrible xbox port. The optimisation is real crap, sometimes unplayable on really decent configurations.
This is not the HD remake with news textures like the ps3 version, and resolution are really limited.
Don’t waste your money on it, just read the comments on steam forum.
sorry for my english.
I haven’t played them for a month or two but Munches oddysee, although playable, is an absolutely horrible port. To the point of menus have Xbox control instructions.
Strangers wrath is alright though and I’m sure many issues have been fixed in the past few months.
*menus having Xbox control instructions and jump sounds looping 5 times in a row.
Well that sucks. No wonder there is no demos.
Thanks for the heads up everyone. Content to wait
Stranger’s has been patched, works smoothly now, though no HD textures. Regarding Munch’s no idea. The devs talked about porting the HD version to PC but nothing for sure. I would advise to wait.
Yeah with those problems its a 75% and above off before I get them
50% Off All Oddworld Games at direct2drive.com (not sure how long it will last)
Oddbox is 12.5$, Munch’s Oddysee is 5$ and Stranger’s is 7.5$ separately. You can still apply the “hangover” discount code for 20% off, but after taxes the price will be pretty much the same.
They say “DRM free” on all of them and available worldwide, so idoubt these registers on steam. Also, there’s no patch for any of them in their patches section so chances are any post release improvements are not present in D2D versions :S.
Still, it’s the best price i’ve seen for the PC remakes so far.
