Trading in: Avoid being a mug in a mug’s game
You can find an updated version of this guide here.
Trading games in is damn convenient, but it is an easy way of haemorrhaging money without even realising exactly how much you are spending. There is a technique that you can use to massively improve the return you get on trade ins, that makes it almost good value. (more…)

Demon's Soul, PS3 – £39.67
Demon’s Soul, PS3 – £39.67 delivered
I’ll buy it at a high price, it would seem. This import only PS3 RPG is really tough to find for cheap, in fact this is one of the only places I’ve seen selling it for under £40. They ship from inside Europe, so there is no risk of getting extra custom charges. Let me know if you see it cheaper elsewhere.

Joe Danger – Eurogamer Expo-pinion
You have to have respect for Hello Games. It’s made up of four blokes who all had jobs at various reputable developers around the UK, and have a collective CV featuring titles such as Black, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, Black, Burnout, Black, Virtua Tennis 3 and Black. Just in case you missed it, I bloody loved Black, it’s one of my favourite floating gun games.
They gave that all up for a dream. A dream of a bloke on a motorbike going from left to right.
A dream called Joe Danger. (more…)

Pretend you are an IGF judge: Part 1
The Independent Games Festival 2010 has just announced the list of 306 games which are going to be in the competition this year. I’ve decided to put together a list of all the games which are currently publicly available, either commercially, freeware, web, beta, or just as a demo, and compile links to how you can play them all in one convenient place. Then you can post your impressions of them in the comments, and we can label things as being award-worthy or not. (more…)
