If you have Rockstar games on Steam, you might want to prevent them from allowing to autoupdate. They appear to be breaking some of their games with patches. (more…)

Update: Link removed, I’ve heard that this may be a scam, so hold your horses.
Aztaka, Bob Came in Pieces, Kingdom Elemental, Gravitron 2, Bridge Construction Set & PutUp, PC – £Whatever you want
Another one, with some lesser known games. Minimum spend is $1, and they seem to do the same thing that the Humblie Indie bundle did, where you can decide the charity split.
The web site loads an audio description of it, which is pretty annoying. Stop button is near the middle at the top. Offer available until Monday the 7th of May.

The SavyGamer Podcast, Episode 16
In this week’s show, we meet up! In person! And record our podcast in the sunshine in the garden, with fantastic amounts of background noise!
We discuss Google’s move into digital distribution, run down our thoughts on what we’ve been playing – and both of us have been getting some time in with new releases, for a change! We touch on Sonic 4 being delayed, and finally get around to talking properly about Project Ten Dollar. Ish.
Click here to begin playback or download the show directly.
Don’t forget that you can subscribe to the podcast, and get a new episode delivered to you as soon as it’s available!
Subscribe on the iTunes Store | Subscribe via RSSThis week’s Game Night will be Red Dead Redemption on the 360 and PS3. Add We R SavyGamers on Xbox Live, and join in on Friday – unfortunately if you’re on the PS3, there’s no such clan-like functionality, but feel free to leave your PSN IDs in the comments for this post and play together that way.
If you’re on PC, play whatever you want with the SavyGamer Steam group – sorry we don’t have a PC-centric one this week, but hey – you’d just be playing more TF2 anyway.
Also, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter! The account for the site is @SavyGamer, and you can find tweets from Lewie and Will at @LewieP and @Willeth respectively. Also, don’t forget to send us your suggestions for what you want to hear about in next week’s show with the hashtag #sgpodcast – we’ll pick the best to talk about in every show.
See you next week, folks, and enjoy the weather while you can.

Privates: Not allowed on the Xbox?
Xbox spokesman David Dennis spoke to seattlepi (via VG247) about Zombie Cow’s “Privates“, he said:
This game has not been submitted to our pre-publication peer review process, and it has not been approved for distribution on Xbox Live Indie Games. We have guidelines in place that closely track requirements of content ratings boards worldwide and, among other things, prohibit the publication of strong sexual content. While we haven’t seen this game, we can confirm that if it is consistent with the description we have seen on the Internet, this game would not pass peer review and would not be permitted to be distributed on Xbox Live.
I spoke to Dan from Zombie Cow to see what he had to say for himself. (more…)

Portal, PC/Mac – Free
Portal, PC/Mac – Free
Portal is still free. You have until tomorrow, the 24th on May (Valve time), left to get Portal for absolutely free on Steam. This is a Steamplay license, meaning it is for both Mac and Windows versions, and presumably Linux later down the road if they ever port Steam to Linux too, and you get to keep it forever.
Even if you don’t have a PC you can run this on now, just get it added to your Steam accounts because it is an amazing game and you can download it whenever you want.
People who already have it:
Tell your friends and family, everyone should probably give this game a go. -

Xbox 360 Elite [used] – £139.99 delivered
Now, they all have HDMI ports, so they aren’t that old. GAME say:
These games are Preowned and as such they may appear slightly blemished. However we carry out quality checks on all stocks prior to it being sold. For your peace of mind: All Games are in full working order and are covered under our 28 Day Returns Guarantee!
Personally, I don’t think I’d want to ever own a used 360.
Bear in mind that they are missing headsets.

*Import* Super Mario Galaxy 2 [USA], Wii – £36.26
*Import* Super Mario Galaxy 2 [USA], Wii – £36.26 delivered
The USA release date is the 23rd of May, and the UK release date is the 11th of June. If you don’t fancy the wait, and have a region free enabled Wii (pretty easy to set up via homebrew, let me know if you need help) then this is the cheapest import price I have been able to find.
Supposedly “All prices include tax/VAT prepaid within the European Union”, so there shouldn’t be any additional charges either.
