But first look, you dont really notice the difference. Which isnt a bad thing. It pretty much runs natively. And if you know what your doing, you can rip out the game thats in the container and put in your own. I did this for Psychonauts.

Using cider for their games, it makes it easier for the companies to release a mac version of the game without spending countless hours-even days recoding it to another platform. A cider port, a well done one at that, can take no more than an hour. Psychonauts took about 5 minutes (other than finding an icon ) because everything that it needs to run is in its own game file. Whereas if you want to port something like, for instance Red Alert 3, it uses alot of windows components, so it might take a few hours.

(Red Alert 3 has an official cider port, but i still did it myself, couldnt be bothered re buying the game..)

Electronic Arts games are all Cider ports… nothing native there…. and really nothing very performant and/or stable.
