Oh…my….god.

But they would have to actually buy *something* to get anything free.

I personally don´t really blame Valve, I blame guys like these milking a giveaway till it´s dry :

This is why we can´t have nice things 😀

I wasn’t going to get Universe Sandbox and the sale wasn’t quite doing it for me, the gift pile pushed me over the edge though. It was a fun little diversion, but I can see how people are getting upset, it does feel kinda like a bait and switch. I came off with Worms Reloaded and Glowfish though, so I’m happy.

Wow some pissed off people on that thread. People were actually buying games purely in the hope of winning other games? Really?

I’ve bought 10 games so far during this sale and i have a list of 30+ mostly older games which weren’t discounted yet above 50%. -.-

You’re always likely to see the bigger titles getting reduced, what you’re suffering from is Sale Overdose. We’ve all been spoilt with the Steam sales and the fatigue is starting to kick in with a number of people.

It’s best to remember that Steam can’t just reduce the cost of the a game of their choosing without consulting the developer/publisher first. So you’re likely to see bigger publishers reduce older games to flog some extra cash out of them. Or certain indie developers looking to inject a lump of cash into their lives so they can continue with their next project.

For the first sale ever, I’ve been able to hoover up games I’d have overlooked in the past in a rush to get the better known titles. I’ve enjoyed E.Y.E, Space Pirates and Zombies, Universe Sandbox and Sequence. All of these games have been reduced before but not to such a degree and often amidst more famous company.

I don’t think we can refer to the sale as disappointing per se, more that its audience has already been well served in the past.

I personally like Deus Ex 3’s Missing Link, but if you’ve got Fallout: New Vegas you HAVE to own Old World Blues. I had more fun with that than I have Skyrim.

I agree, almost whole sale was terrible. Let’s wait and see for the January 2nd.

Either it was non-competitively priced newer games (War in the north for £20? Really?)or older titles which had been on sale at least 10 times before (Does everyone still not own Borderlands?). Really wish they would of used some more obscure titles for the daily deal,

I know it might be obvious if you look, but its easy to be caught out sometimes.

I’ve got a list going on Reddit atm for anyone who wants to trade or get free stuff.

All the X:BTTF games are pretty good. Instead of paying £9.99 you’ll find the X Superbox for about a fiver on Gamersgate, which will then register on Steam. Win. Thanks Savy!

Not a massive space game fan but looking to potentially branch out. So advice on the best/easiest/richest option would be great

I don’t know about co op but despite fiddling with the graphics settings, I’m finding the game near unplayable. The text is just impossible to read.

Well, here in the UK it’s £5.62 for a 4-pack and £4.96 for 4 individual copies.
