Steam Summer Sale 2011
Update: This is the last day of the sale now, you have until 6pm on Monday to buy any games you want from the sale.
The Steam Summer Sale 2011 has now kicked off. I will be updating this post as it goes along, check back here to get a full guide to what is on sale at any time.
It is probably best to wait until the last day of the sale before buying anything not on daily special, since it might be available for even cheaper at a later point in the sale.
Unlike normal posts on SavyGamer, there’s no guarantee that these are the cheapest prices available for these games. This is just the Steam sale listed in its entirety, many items will be cheaper elsewhere.
I have made my personal highlights bold if you’re looking for some inspiration.

6Sam & Max: Season 1, 2 & 3, PC – £15.15
Sam & Max: Season 1, 2 & 3, PC – £15.15
Or individually:
Season 1 – £5.05
Season 2 – £5.05
Season 3 – £9.15
Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition]/Dark Souls [Special Edition]/Ace Combat: Assault Horizon [Limited Edition]/Call Of Juarez: The Cartel/Driver: San Francisco, Xbox 360/PS3 – 2 for £48.69
Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition]/Dark Souls [Special Edition]/Ace Combat: Assault Horizon [Limited Edition]/Call Of Juarez: The Cartel/Driver: San Francisco, Xbox 360/PS3 – 2 for £48.69 delivered
This is a bit of a complicated one, bear with me, but the result is (hopefully) getting any two games from that list for a total of £48.69 (or £24.35 each).
Zavvi are running a promotion where if you buy a selected item of clothing for £17.99, you can get any of those games for £17.85. That’s £35.84 for game and an item of clothing, not a bad deal, but we can do better than that. The terms & condition state that you need to buy one of each item to get this pricing, but actually just buying one item of clothing lets you buy any two of the games.
So, pick an item of clothing from here, and add any two of these to your basket:
Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition], Xbox 360/PS3
Dark Souls [Special Edition], Xbox 360/PS3
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon [Limited Edition], Xbox 360/PS3
Call Of Juarez: The Cartel, Xbox 360/PS3
Driver: San Francisco, Xbox 360/PS3
That should come to a total of £53.69. Then apply coupon “VCFIVEOFF50″ to get another fiver off.
Whilst this obviously is a mistake, since the item of clothing ships immediately I’m not sure there is much they will be able to do about it. They’ll likely charge you immediately, at least for the item of clothing, so they probably won’t be able to squirm out of fulfilling the entire order.
If you don’t like the sound of a potential bit of hassle just for a saving of ~£10-15, then I’d say avoid this offer. It might end up being more trouble than it is worth, but it’s certainly good pricing.
Usual The Hut group caveat applies. Their track record for customer service isn’t very good, but this is cheap.

Last time The Hut had a misprice like this, they cancelled everyone’s orders. I’d be highly surprised if they don’t do that again, but it’s worth a try I suppose, and you have nothing to lose.
The Hut have a pretty bad track record for customer service. But they’re also cheap.
