I dunno – this isn’t a normal Bethesda game. Still, either way it’ll be massively cheaper come next year’s inevitable Steam sale!

For the amount of gameplay Fallout New Vegas offers, it’s still worth getting now for £23. Unlike, say, The Force Unleashed II with it’s four hours of gameplay.

It was crashing at the intro movie, and whenever I tried to load a save. After spending too much time searching through forums, I found a solution that allows me to play: Disable cloud saving and download and run Nirsoft’s InstalledCodec ( http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html ) to disable all installed codecs. It’s a bizarre solution, but since doing those two things I’ve only run into a few bugs, all of them involving getting caught in the scenery and having to reload.

The RPS article was awful. The game however is not and a very worthwhile purchase if you enjoyed F3. Although I would (from what I’ve heard) avoid the console versions.

P.S triple comment reply bonus!

Oh and, I’ve not seen anything beneficial as a result of getting a low karma in the game. There might be some perks, but none that I’ve been evil enough to unlock… yet 🙂

If you enjoyed Fallout 3, you’ll enjoy this. It’s definitely no worse.

From what I’ve played so far, Reputation has a far greater impact than Karma on how you’re received by other characters. As mentioned in the review, some gangs attack me on sight because I’ve ticked them off in various ways, while other groups give me discounted prices and free accommodation. It’s all tied together, though, so far example if you did things that would result in a low karma (stole from a group, murdered one of their members) they would eventually vilify you, and vice versa for good deeds. Hope that helps.

Is having negative karma just less fun in this new iteration? Are there not as many benefits?

Or maybe I’m just much more evil than the people in my Google Reader, lol.
